Yoga, Red Lips & the Art of a Balanced Life

Being well isn’t about doing more—it’s about being more present, more playful, more ourselves.

This is an ad-free premiere of a vlog that will be posted tomorrow on YouTube. If you prefer, you can watch it on my YouTube channel (with ad interruptions) here.

Some Saturdays feel like a gentle exhale—the kind where nothing’s rushed, but everything still unfolds beautifully.

This one started just as I love it: with an early morning yoga class followed by a strong black coffee (yes, from Starbucks, and yes, just plain coffee—balance, my friends). It’s my small ritual. Movement, breath, warmth in a cup. These little things anchor my day and help me savor the hours ahead, even when there’s no grand plan.

Balance is a theme that keeps echoing in my life. I talk about it often, not because I’ve mastered it, but because I’ve learned to respect it. I’ve learned that being healthy isn’t about perfection. It’s about choosing what feels good and sustainable. It’s about allowing space for the practical (like dyeing my hair at home with my trusted L’Oréal) and the playful (like testing a new red lip gloss that feels unexpectedly fabulous without a mirror).

My errands led me to some unexpected delights—like the prettiest faux flowers at the dollar store and tea lights I’m repurposing into margarita glass lamps (yes, really). It’s these tiny home projects that remind me how joy lives in creativity, not in cost or scale.

The evening ended with a seafood dinner date at a restaurant we’d never tried before. It wasn’t fancy. It was better. Casual, cozy, with the best fish and chips I’ve had in Toronto. The kind of place you recommend to friends because it hits that rare sweet spot between flavor and comfort. We laughed, we reminisced about the legendary shrimp from New Year’s Eve, and we lingered over every bite.

That’s the thing about a balanced life—it’s not built on extremes. It’s made of Saturdays like this. With yoga and errands, lipstick and candles, spontaneous home decor, and shared plates at dinner. A day that asks nothing more than for you to enjoy it fully.

Here’s to weekends that remind us: being well isn’t about doing more—it’s about being more present, more playful, more ourselves.

What’s your favorite way to spend a slow, joyful Saturday?
